I haven't blogged about this yet, but after speaking to several other 24 fans I can no longer ignore it. I have been a fan of the show 24 since the very first episode. I was hooked that night and haven't missed an episode since. I own all 5 seasons that have been released on dvd. I'm obviously a fan, but I'm aware now that I'm not the only one that was a little disappointed this past season in Day 6.

I know that Keifer has stated in interviews and would like for all of us to buy into his theory that the show can stand alone successful without him as Jack Bauer, but I'm sorry, Keifer, I'm not buying it! In speaking with other fans that have watched from Day 1, we all decided that there were too many other story lines with new characters and people that we just didn't care about this season and not enough Jack.

We all originally got into 24 because of the terrorist plots, guns, racing against the clock, things getting blown up and mainly CTU Agent Jack Bauer...the one man that loves his country enough to die for it - the last true American - the only man that can actually put fear into the most despicable terrorist's eyes - with a knife he almost cut a Presidential aide's eye out of the socket - the person that stood up against the President of the United States when no one else would - a man of principle that can't be bought or even broken by Chinese torture...this is what got us hooked in the first place so why mess with it? No one else could replace him or play that part quite like him. He sucked us in from the first hour of Day 1 and ever since we've believed that he probably could single-handedly find and break Osama Bin Ladin's neck after torturing him in the interrogation room!

Why would the producers think that we would want something different? How could they think that we would care about a bunch of other characters and who they were in love with other than Jack and how Chloe was going to get in the back door of a program to help him escape a close call?!

I suppose that I've ranted enough for today, but please sound off with your thoughts on the matter if you also watch 24! Oh yeah, at the end of the day I'm still a fan and probably will still watch next season, but it will be hard to get better than Day 5 in my book!

Michele, I don't watch 24. Shows like that make me nervous as a cat. BUT, Rob would love to borrow your DVD's. I think he's been wanting to see what all the hype is about!
The only show I watch is Antiques Roadshow. I'm for real..I love that show.

Love ya!
